Sonnya NaTria Williams Adams was born in Little Rock Arkansas, the eleventh child of the Late Eunice and Dorothy Mar Willingham Williams of Bookman, Arkansas, in Grant County. Adams received formal schooling at Dollarway High School graduating in 1985. Adams completed her Bachelor Degree of Art degree in Computer Information System from and, Bachelor Degree of Science in Elementary Education from Friends University, and Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix. Adams is currently working on a Master Special Education.
Adams started working at Wichita Public Schools as an educator in August 1995. Adams received several awards including The Apple Awards. Adams was the first African American female to referee basketball in Wichita. Adams’ service to the community includes member of Wichita Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, the NAACP, Board Member of Oak and Ivy: African American Museum and Cultural Center and a Saint Mark United Methodist Church. Adams is married to Dwight D. Adams Sr., and they are proud parents of two adult sons and one adult daughter Dwight Adams Jr. Desmond Adams and Dawn Adams.
